SerNet has officially released SAMBA+ 4.19.8. Packages for various SUSE and Red Hat platforms as well as for Debian GNU/Linux, Ubuntu and AIX are available now.

These packages address several issues, which are listed in the release notes.

News S2N

On 9 and 10 October 2024, SerNet will once again be present at Storage, Server, Network (S2N for short) in Hamburg. Over the two days of the conference organised by heise, S2N will focus on trends and technologies from the areas of storage networks and data management, as well as networks and servers, thus reflecting the thematic growth of the former Storage2day.

You can look forward to interesting talks and presentations by our Samba Teamlead Ralph Böhme and Managing Director Johannes Loxen on the topics of "SAMBA in critical infrastructure" and "News from Ceph and Samba". You can also take the opportunity to talk to us in person.

The updates for the 4.19.7 packages address:

  • Bug 13019 - Dynamic DNS updates with the internal DNS are not working
  • Bug 15664 - Panic in vfs_offload_token_db_fetch_fsp()
